Just days after recovering from high winds that brought down tree limbs and power lines, another strong wind system is expected today in Indiana County.
The National Weather Service has announced a High Wind Warning for Indiana and Westmoreland Counties from 10:00 this morning to 10:00 tonight. During that 12 hour period, wind from the southeast will be from 30 to 40 miles an hour, with gusts up to 60 miles an hour also expected. That is expected to bring down tree limbs and power lines, resulting in power outages. Travel is also expected to be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles like tractor-trailer trucks.
People are advised that during the windstorm to stay in the lowest level of your house and stay away from windows until it dies down. If you have to drive, people are asked to use caution, and everyone is asked to watch for falling limbs and other debris.
