Team Canada comes through again, winning the 4 Nations Face-Off with a Connor McDavid overtime goal for a 3-2 win over Team USA.
McDavid’s championship goal came just over eight minutes into the extra period. Sam Bennett and Nathan MacKinnon also scored for Canada and Jordan Binnington made 31 saves, including stoning Team USA’s Auston Matthews 2:51 into overtime with a doorstep sprawl and a snap of his glove at the edge of the crease. Jake Sanderson and Brady Tkachuk scored the U.S. goals.

PENGUINS
The Penguins will be back on the practice ice in Cranberry today preparing for the resumption of the season tomorrow. Evgeni Malkin says he is 100 percent healthy and will play against the Washington Capitals, and Bryan Rust was a full practice participant this week, too. Both are on injured reserve. Team Sweden’s Rickard Rakell and Erik Karlsson will be back from the 4 Nations Face-Off today but Sidney Crosby and Mike Sullivan might not be. Crosby’s availability for tomorrow and for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers is unknown.
