State Police in Indiana are investigating a case of financial exploitation that happened in Burrell Township last Friday. After experiencing a medical episode in the home of Linda Comfort of Josephine, Brook Silk of Bolivar grabbed a Western Union money order valued at $800 and fled the residence. Charges against Silk were filed through District Judge Robert Bell’s office.

No injuries were reported in a crash in Derry township last Saturday.
State police say 63-year-old Derrick Johnson of Blairsville was driving west on Route 22 when he lost control of his car and hit a cement barrier in the median head-on. The car continued west, spun around and hit another cement barrier on the shoulder. Johnson was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and reported no injuries.
