Margaret “Marg” Louise (Huey) Kanarr, 96, of Commodore, PA died on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Embassy of Hillsdale Park in Hillsdale, PA.
The daughter of Joseph Grant and Hazel (Coalmer) Huey, she was born on February 19, 1928 in Smithport, PA.
Marg was a graduate of the Montgomery Township High School.
On March 19, 1949 she married James E. Kanarr and they had shared over sixty-five years of marriage together when he died on October 24, 2014.
From childhood Marg attended a Methodist church, most recently being a member of the Plum Global Methodist Church of Commodore, PA.
For over fifty years Marg enjoyed bowling with the Good Time Bowlers and continued bowling until she was in her 80’s. She loved spending time outdoors, Marg’s dedication to her lawncare and gardening was well known and resulted in an immaculate landscape surrounding her residence. When driving by Marg’s home, a familiar sight was to see her riding her John Deere zero turn mower.
Some of Marg’s other favorite pastimes were camping and doing word find puzzles.
Marg is survived by her three children: Roberta “Bobbie” Montgomery of Cookport, PA; Beverly Bouch and husband, Miles of Mahaffey, PA and Rhea Pearce of Glen Campbell, PA; her eight grandchildren, her fourteen great grandchildren and her one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jim; her sons: Roger and Russell Kanarr; her son-in-law, William Montgomery; her siblings: Ruby Smith; Oneida Treese; Jim Huey, Hope Huey; Raymond Huey and Mary Jane Weaver.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where a 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Pastor Ray Hill will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rowley Cemetery in Hillsdale, PA.
