One person was killed in a car crash on Route 119 in Rayne Township yesterday.
State police were dispatched at 1:40 PM along with members of the Marion Center and Plumville fire departments and Citizen’s Ambulance. Police determined that a car driven by an 18-year-old man was going north on 119 just past Kimmel Road. As the car approached the curve, the car went off the east side and hit a utility pole. The car continued another 100 feet, striking multiple trees on a hillside and overturning before coming to rest on it’s passenger side.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman, Jr.. The identity of the victim was not released as next of kin have not been notified.
