In Indiana County Court, jury selection begins tomorrow for the trial of 31-year-old Matraca Lynn Vrana of Blairsville, who is accused of killing her 27-year-old boyfriend during an argument in September of 2021.
Vrana is charged with criminal homicide, voluntary manslaughter, and aggravated assault in the shooting death of 27-year-old Matthew Hill at an apartment they shared on Barnview Circle in Burrell Township. Investigators said she picked up a rifle and shot Hill in the head during the dispute.
In March of last year she pleaded guilty to third degree murder, but in June, her motion to withdraw that plea was accepted. She will be tried before Senior Judge Oliver Lobaugh of Venango County.
