Aside from the arrest of the New Kensington man on assault and threat charges, things were active for members of the Indiana Area Collaborative Team.
I-ACT reported a busy night as authorities dealt with crowds and heavy pedestrian traffic in party areas and downtown bars. Police responses to campus-adjacent locations increased through Saturday afternoon and evening. IUP Police reported three arrests, all for public drunkenness, with one suspect also charged with underage drinking. Indiana Borough Police reported 76 calls for service on Saturday, with only 20 of them being campus-related, with charges ranging from DUI to open container violations.
State police said 103 traffic stops were conducted, five people were charged with DUI while 15 people were arrested for underage drinking and five were charged with public intoxication. A more comprehensive report is expected from state police later today.
