The PSAC quarterfinals happen tonight, with both IUP teams matched up against the top western seeds.
The IUP women open the action tonight on WCCS, tipping off at 5:30 at Edinboro, which has lost only five times this season, but two of them were to IUP. The Scots’ last loss was at the KCAC, 76-72 in overtime on February 15th.
Coach Craig Carey says it will be a battle tonight.
The other women’s games tonight are Bloomsburg at Lock Haven, with the winner to take on the winner of IUP/Edinboro; West Chester is at Kutztown and Seton Hill visits Gannon.
Coach Joe Lombardi’s men’s team travels to top seed Gannon. IUP has lost both of their games to the Golden Knights this year, by 7 points and by 22.
Lombardi is happy that his guys got their first taste of winning a playoff game Monday night at Slippery Rock.
The other games tonight Shepherd at East Stroudsburg, with the winner getting the winner of IUP/Gannon; Millersville is at West Chester and Seton Hill travels to Cal.
The IUP women’s game airs on WCCS at 5:15. The men are on 92.5 FM U92 at 7:15.
IUP forward Damir Brooks has been named the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week for his complete effort against Clarion in the regular season finale. Brooks had 8 rebounds, three blocked shots, and four steals, and scored 11 points on the offensive end in Friday’s win.
