A two-vehicle accident resulted in a traffic light and pole coming down along Route 422 in Elderton this morning.
The call went out at 6:55 this morning for Elderton fire crews to respond to the intersection of 422 and Salt Work Street. A car turned in front of a utility truck towing a trailer, and the impact pushed the truck into a metal light pole, bringing it and the traffic light it was holding down. One person had to be extricated from their vehicle. Two were taken to Kittanning Hospital for evaluation.
As of right now, the intersection is still under repair. PennDOT officials have put stop signs up at the intersections, and drivers who have to go through there must treat it as a four-way stop.
