The Pirates on Wednesday promoted longtime bullpen catcher Jordan Comadena to Major League catching coach.
Comadena has been with the Pirates since 2016 and is known for working extensively with the likes of former No. 1 pick Henry Davis and Jacob Stallings, who won a Gold Glove award in 2021. He will work closely with Davis moving forward, as well as Endy Rodriguez, Joey Bart and Jason Delay, all of whom are on the team’s 40-man roster.
This marks the third coaching hire the Pirates have made so far this offseason. The others being Matt Hague as hitting coach and Brent Strom as an assistant pitching coach.
