One person was killed in a crash Wednesday evening in South Mahoning Township.
Indiana County 911 dispatched the Plumville and Marion Center fire departments, Citizens’ Ambulance and State Police at 6:22 PM to a location along Route 85 a half mile from Five Points Road. Officials from the Marion Center Fire Department said that when they arrived, they discovered that a motorcycle collided with a minivan head on. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and three others were taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. While the names of the victims have not been released, District Attorney Robert Manzi confirmed that the person who died was riding the motorcycle at the time.
Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman, Jr., DA Manzi and state police accident reconstruction teams were called in to investigate further. Manzi or Plumville fire chief JD Ferraro will provide an update once the victim’s family has been notified.
