The IUP outdoor track & field team continued the season on Saturday at the Stan Romanoski Open, hosted by West Virginia University. For many student-athletes, it marked the first competition of the outdoor season in an event that featured many distance runners.
Bryna Kelly highlighted the day with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standard in the 100m hurdles, posting fourth in 15.27. Evan Loro notched a runner-up finish in the high jump for the IUP men’s team with a 6.42m mark.
Another runner-up finish, the women’s 4×100 relay group of Emma Laughlin, Kelly, Sterlene Scott, and Cahsia Page logged a 49.88. In the field events, Ashton Botzan (3.95m) and Adam Wood (1.78m) logged third place in the pole vault and high jump, respectively.
Page paced the Crimson Hawk grouping in the women’s 100m with a third-place time of 12.58. Owen Putt recorded fifth in the men’s 400m in 51.50, with Eli Gunby following in 19th overall.
