An Indiana County District Judge has announced he will seek re-election.

Christopher Welch announced in a news release that he will seek a second term as the District Judge in Clymer, which serves 22 municipalities in the northern half of the county.
Welch was first elected to the post in 2018. He has extensive legal experience as a practicing attorney in Indiana with the firm Budash and Welch. He is active in the Pennsylvania Special Court Judge’s Association where he currently serves as a district officer and on the statewide Court Administration Committee. He is also an adjunct instructor at the IUP Police Academy. He was also a graduate of IUP, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree and an MBA. He then went to University of Duquesne’s law school and was admitted to the bar by the State Supreme Court in 2002.
Welch says he intends to cross-file for the upcoming primary election on May 16th.
