The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is reminding Pennsylvania dog owners that they have until January 1st to purchase a dog license.
The department, which oversees the Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement, says all dogs three months and older are required to be licensed than Pennsylvania. The annual license costs $8.50 and it is $51.50 for a lifetime license. For spayed or neutered animals, the fees are $6.50 and $31.50.
Licenses can be picked up at the treasurer’s office at the Indiana County courthouse. For more information, you can contact the office of Kimberly McCullough at 724-465-3845. Her office is open between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Just a reminder that if you do not have your dog licensed, it can result in fines ranging from $50 to $300 plus court costs.
