A man from Delmont will soon be promoted in the Diocese of Greensburg to become a permanent deacon, and will receive his first assignment.
53-year-old Craig Gilbert will join four others in the diocese on Saturday, June 20th as ordained permanent deacons.

Deacon Bill Hisker, the director of the permanent diaconate of the diocese, said that all five have significant gifts and talents that will be put to use as they continue with their ministry.
During the ordination service, each will also receive their first assignment as deacon. Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, attendance at the service will be limited to those invited. The service will be streamed on the diocesan website, www.dioceseofgreensburg.org at 10:00 AM.
Others who will also be promoted to deacon include:
- 58-year-old Michael Dargay of Tarrs
- 66-year-old Steven LoCascio of Greensburg,
- 60-year-old Robert Stauffer of Adamsburg
- 58-year-old Bill Wilson of North Huntingdon
