An Indiana School Bus caught fire this morning.
In a statement from Indiana Area School District Superintendent Michael Vuckovich, the bus on Route 104 this morning was experiencing technical difficulties in the area of Wood Road near Shelocta and started to spark. The driver noticed this and stopped the bus, got the remaining four secondary students out of the bus and walked them to the nearest bus stop on the route. Shortly after that, the bus caught fire. Elderton Fire Department and State Police quickly responded to the scene.
The driver and the students were unharmed, and the district praised the driver for his quick thinking. The parents of the students involved are being notified of what happened this morning by the district.
